Ryan VandenBrink brings legit bat-to-ball pop and a catcher’s edge to Oregon State
VandenBrink entered Oregon State as Oregon’s top 2024 prospect and a 2024 Oregon 6A Player of the Year after hitting .474 with eight homers for West Linn, and his 2026 Beavers line shows he can contribute right away (.160 with a .490 slugging percentage across limited action). He’s a physical, right-handed C/INF with advanced offensive feel and all-fields power, and the most interesting part is the catch: he’s not just a bat, he’s a 6-1, 242-pound grinder who was trusted for his collegiate catching debut in a 17-2 win, which hints at toughness, versatility, and real lineup flexibility.
