Zach Lyles is emerging as WKU’s reliable left-handed relief weapon
In the 2026 season, Zach Lyles developed into a high-leverage arm for Western Kentucky, posting a 4.11 ERA with 32 strikeouts, four saves, and a team-best four saves while helping a staff that ranked among Conference USA’s best at limiting walks. He’s a 6-2 lefty with enough strikeout punch to miss bats and enough versatility to work multiple-inning relief, though his command and contact management can still get tested at times. If you want a competitive, experienced bullpen piece with toughness and late-game value, he’s worth a serious look.
