Efficient veteran forward with a defensive edge
In the 2016-17 season, Darren Payen was a high-impact reserve for Vermont, earning America East Sixth Man of the Year after averaging 8.3 points and 2.7 rebounds in conference play while shooting 76.7% from the field. His calling card is efficiency and interior defense: he blocked 17 shots in league games, ranked among the conference’s best shot-blockers, and gave Vermont reliable minutes off the bench with a physical, low-mistake style. If you want a poised, rim-protecting forward who can finish cleanly and raise the energy level, Payen checks that box.
