Sypkens was the definition of a specialist who could tilt a game from deep: in the 2013-14 season he hit 93 threes and shot 41.3% from long range, finishing his UC Davis career with 315 made threes, plus school records for threes in a game (10) and season (106 in 2012-13). He brought real value as a high-volume spacer with strong free-throw shooting and a proven scoring track record, though his game was built more around shooting than all-around creation. If a team needed instant perimeter gravity and a fearless, record-setting shooter, he was a very strong fit.
