JT Smith is the Demons’ spark plug in center field and at the top of the lineup
In the 2026 season, JT Smith became Northwestern State’s leadoff engine, starting all 53 games, earning Southland Conference All-Defensive Team honors in center field, and ranking among the league’s best outfielders with 93 putouts—the most by an SLC outfielder. She also gave the Demons real two-way value: top-10 finishes in eight offensive categories, a school-record 22 hit-by-pitches, and a profile built on speed, contact, and pressure at the top of the order. If your team wants an intense, reliable defender who changes games without needing a big swing, she’s a very strong fit.
