Toledo freshman Lexi Johnson shows arm talent, but 2026 debut has been uneven
Lexi Johnson, a 5-foot-7 right-handed pitcher from Union Mills, Ind., arrived at Toledo as a four-year varsity player and has already been trusted with 11 starts as a freshman in the 2026 season. Her appeal is upside: she’s a true pitcher/utility prospect with competitive experience and the toughness to take the ball early, even though the statistical line has been rocky (1-9, 7.42 ERA, 10 strikeouts in 44.1 innings). If you need developmental pitching depth and a player with versatility, she fits; if you need immediate, high-end run prevention, the current results say “not yet.”
