Elite two-way catcher, award winner, and bat-to-ball spark for USD
In the 2026 season, San Diego catcher Jayden Lobliner finished as a back-to-back WCC Defensive Player of the Year and was drafted in the ninth round by the Cardinals, a loud signal that his defense is real and pro-level. He hit .296 with 16 doubles, 10 home runs, and 39 RBIs in 51 games, while also throwing out 28 baserunners across his USD career, so the glove, arm, and game management jump off the page. Add in a cycle in May and a reputation for clutch, high-energy production, and you’re looking at a tough, dependable backstop with juice.
