Freshman lefty with pedigree and early-season upside at The Citadel
Stephen Platte is a 2026 freshman left-handed pitcher for The Citadel who arrives with a strong high-school résumé: at South Aiken, he was an All-State and All-Region selection, struck out 95 batters in 50 innings, and posted a 1.54 ERA with a .137 opponent batting average. In 2026 for The Citadel, he has logged limited early action, so the question is less about raw stuff and more about how quickly that strike-throwing, swing-and-miss profile translates to college hitters. If your team values a competitive lefty with upside and room to grow, he’s worth a hard look.
