Toledo’s hard-throwing, homegrown righty with bullpen upside
In the 2026 season, Toledo right-hander Matt Hubbard looked like a developing arm to watch: he struck out 7 batters in 5.0 innings across six appearances, with a season-high 3 strikeouts against Butler and a clean 1.0-inning, 3-strikeout outing in Toledo’s 12-1 win over Butler on May 6, 2026. At 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds, the Perrysburg, Ohio native has the frame coaches love, and Toledo’s early recruiting pitch centered on building his velocity. He fits best as a power bullpen piece with growth potential.
