Connor Mendez’s ceiling is real — and so is the roller coaster
In the 2026 season, Oregon State RHP Connor Mendez has flashed swing-and-miss upside and starter’s toughness, but his results have been uneven: he was rocked in some outings, then delivered a 6 1/3-inning, two-hit rebound against Portland with just one run allowed. The appeal is obvious — he’s a 6-foot, 215-pound right-hander who transferred in after a dominant junior-college run at Linn-Benton, where he posted a 0.69 ERA over 78 innings and earned NWAC Tournament MVP honors. He looks like a fit for teams that value arm strength, competitiveness, and bounce-back mentality.
