George Adams gives FIU a left-handed strikeout arm with upside
In the 2026 season, George Adams emerged as FIU’s most reliable strikeout pitcher, leading the Panthers with 22 strikeouts across five starts and posting a career-best eight-strikeout outing against Florida Atlantic. He’s a 6-foot-2 lefty who competes hard, misses bats, and can be deployed as a starter or in relief, which adds real roster flexibility. His ERA sat in the mid-5s to low-6s, so the profile is more “projectable arm with juice” than finished product, but the late-season notes suggest he finished with momentum and enough swing-and-miss to be intriguing.
