Tulane RHP Sam Larson: 16th-Round MLB Draft Pick with Proven Save Ability and Rock-Solid Durability
Sam Larson, a 6'4", 205-lb right-handed pitcher for Tulane, stands out as a 16th-round (464th overall) 2026 MLB Draft pick by the Colorado Rockies, differentiating himself with four saves across 28 appearances in his inaugural 2025 season at Tulane after transferring from DIII Denison. His 2-3 record and three wins at Denison (2024–2025) showcase consistent durability, while his recent loss to Rice (May 15, 2026) reflects competitive resilience rather than decline. Larson’s intensity, adaptability from DIII to NCAA D1, and proven ability to close games make him a high-fit, low-risk prospect for teams needing a reliable late-inning arm with MLB-ready polish.
