Grant Sorensen is a versatile, high-upside infield grinder for SDSU
In the 2026 season, South Dakota State freshman Grant Sorensen appeared in 35 games with 15 starts and showed real lineup flexibility by starting at shortstop, second base, and third base. He’s a switch-hit-proof kind of spark plug on the dirt: athletic, adaptable, and already trusted in multiple spots. His high-school resume adds bite too, including a .341 average, 12 doubles, 27 RBIs, and 14 steals as a senior, plus a school-record 43 stolen bases as a junior. He looks like a fit for teams that value versatility, hustle, and developing contact-oriented infielders with room to grow.
