UTRGV guard Xavier McDaniel Jr. brings two-way effort and proven scoring touch
Xavier McDaniel Jr. gives UT Rio Grande Valley a guard with steady production and a defensive edge: in the 2024-25 season, ESPN lists him at 8.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, 0.9 assists and 38.8% shooting, while his UTRGV bio highlights a long track record of impact from high school, where he finished with 1,000 career points and repeatedly earned All-State Tournament Team honors. He stands out for toughness, rebounding from the guard spot, and a physical, energetic style that fits teams needing effort, versatility, and a player who can contribute without needing the ball every possession.[3][1]
