Freshman DB Ian Burris adds championship pedigree to St. Thomas
Ian Burris enters the 2026 season as a 6-foot, 174-pound freshman defensive back for St. Thomas after coming from Chicago’s St. Ignatius College Prep, where he helped deliver back-to-back state titles and recorded a key interception in the 2025 championship game. He looks like a smart fit for a team that values competitive, ball-aware DBs: the Tommies are getting a rookie with winning experience, some playmaking pop, and immediate toughness potential. The upside here is less about raw stat stuffing and more about proven big-game instincts, which can translate well in the secondary.
