Emma Jo Evans brings power, contact, and clutch pop to JMU’s infield
Emma Jo Evans, a freshman infielder for James Madison in the 2026 season, has been an immediate-impact bat: she appeared in 49 games with 49 starts and hit .328 with 41 hits, 7 home runs, 2 triples, and a .560 slugging percentage. She also posted several big-game moments, including a four-hit game, a two-homer outing, and a grand slam, which says plenty about her run-producing upside. At 5-foot-5, she plays like a spark plug—energetic, productive, and clearly trusted in the lineup. She looks like a fit for teams wanting a middle-of-the-order bat with freshman poise and real juice.
