Ella Morris brings contact-oriented speed and lineup flexibility to Mercer
Morris arrives at Mercer after a freshman season at Rhode Island in 2025 in which she appeared in 34 games, made 18 starts, hit .208, and added six walks, a hit by pitch, and 11 hits overall; her upside is tied to speed and defensive reliability rather than power, with Mercer noting she stole 19 bases in her final prep season and posted a perfect fielding percentage in high school. She looks like a fit for a team that values pressure on the bases, athletic outfield defense, and a player who can grow into more consistent production with development.
