Projectable UConn freshman RHP with a big frame and zero 2026 innings
McDowell is a 6-foot-3, 197-pound freshman right-hander from Brookfield, Conn., but in the 2026 season he did not appear in a game for UConn, so the on-field sample is basically a blank slate. The appeal is projection: local product, athletic build, and enough arm talent to earn a Division I roster spot, though the public record also shows his college career was just getting started. If you want upside and moldability over instant impact, he’s a watch-list arm; if you need proven innings right now, this isn’t that guy.
