Jake Storey brings size, strike-throwing volume, and elite academics to UNC’s rotation
In the 2026 season, Northern Colorado right-hander Jake Storey logged 67.2 innings over 16 appearances and 14 starts, striking out 58 hitters; in 2025, he made 14 straight starts and worked 62.2 innings, showing the Bears trust him to take the ball and eat innings. At 6-foot-5 and 225 pounds, he has a starter’s frame, and his biggest calling card is durability with a competitive, workmanlike profile. He’s also a high-academic fit, posting a 4.00 GPA in Business Administration, which suggests strong consistency and coachability.
