JT Smith brings glove-first upside, early offensive flashes for Wofford
In the 2026 season, Wofford catcher JT Smith showed a promising blend of defensive trust and offensive feel, playing in nine games with five starts behind the plate and hitting .125 with two hits, two doubles, two runs, and one RBI. He made an immediate impression in his collegiate debut stretch, earning his first start against Xavier and notching his first hit, run, RBI, and RBI double early in conference play. The appeal is the receiving/leadership profile at catcher plus a steadily improving bat; the fit looks strongest for a team that values defense, toughness, and a high-motor backstop with room to grow at the plate.
