Dylan Johnson is the 2026 CAA defensive star behind Charleston’s lineup
In the 2026 season, Charleston catcher Dylan Johnson paired elite defense with middle-of-the-order production, winning CAA Defensive Player of the Year, leading the team in batting average (.342), hits (69), doubles (18) and OPS (.942), and appearing in all 54 games while starting 53[2]. He also owns the program record for runners caught stealing and was named to the Buster Posey Midseason Watch List, which says plenty about his arm, game-calling and steady, high-usage toughness behind the plate[5][6].
