Wesley Marien is emerging as a steady right-handed arm for Northwestern State
In the 2026 season, Wesley Marien has given Northwestern State a durable, attack-the-zone relief option, including a 2-2 record and a 4.82 ERA across 37.1 innings, and he showed he can handle pressure by earning the win in the Demons’ comeback over ULM and striking out four in a tough loss to McNeese. The 6-foot-3 Baton Rouge righty looks like a competitive, multi-inning bullpen piece with enough poise to work in conference games, and his freshman-to-sophomore jump suggests real upside if the command tightens. That said, he’s not yet a finished product—more “useful arm with room to grow” than instant shutdown ace.
