Freshman Blake Herman has quickly shown he can change a game for Canisius in the 2026 season, flashing real power with multi-homer outbursts, including a grand-slam night against Le Moyne and another three-run blast against Iona.[6][9] He’s valuable because he brings catcher/utility flexibility plus a track record as a high-impact all-around player: at Gowanda in 2025 he hit .544 with 5 home runs and also went 11-2 with a 0.80 ERA on the mound, earning All-WNY Small School Player of the Year honors.[2][12]
