Jerod Smith II brings Louisville a disruptive, versatile edge presence
Jerod Smith II is a 6-foot-4, 275-pound defensive lineman who transferred to Louisville in 2026 after a productive 2025 season at Kentucky, where he posted 27 tackles, 5.0 tackles for loss, one sack, one forced fumble, and 10 pressures in 12 games. He’s the kind of mover who can line up on the edge or inside, giving Louisville scheme flexibility and a hard-nosed, high-motor presence. Formerly a top-200 recruit and the top-ranked player in Kentucky, he looks like a strong fit for a defense that wants length, leverage, and punch in the pass rush.
