Darbie Richard brings freshman infield depth and left-handed versatility to Southern
Richard is a first-year infield option for Southern, listed as a 5-foot-5 freshman from Waxahachie, Texas, and a left-handed batter who adds roster flexibility. Her value right now is less about a long stat line and more about fit: she gives the Jaguars another young, developing defender in the dirt, which matters for a program that just posted a strong 2026 season and is building depth for the SWAC grind. If you want an adaptable, early-career player with upside and room to grow into a bigger role, she fits the profile.
