Blake Huggins brings size, rim protection, and steady veteran grit to Ball State
In the 2021-22 season, Blake Huggins was a 6-10 Ball State center whose value came more from physical presence than box-score flash: he finished his career with 112 points, 88 rebounds, and 19 blocks, and earlier seasons showed he could crash the glass and protect the rim when given minutes. What makes him interesting is the “coach’s big” profile — long, sturdy, and disciplined, with a history of academic recognition and a reputation for hard-nosed interior work. That kind of low-drama, high-effort frontcourt presence fits teams that want defense, rebounding, and dependable practice intensity.
