Zion Taylor is a high-upside Houston edge/lb with special-teams grit and portal uncertainty
In the 2024 season, Zion Taylor was mostly a developmental piece for Houston, making his debut in the finale at BYU and logging nine special-teams snaps, while his high school résumé showed real pass-rush juice: 78 tackles, 27.5 tackles for loss, 17.5 sacks, and 20 quarterback hurries at Shadow Creek. He’s a 6-2, 235-pound defender whose calling card is length, burst, and edge versatility, but the bigger story is context — he did not see game action in 2025 and publicly entered the transfer portal, so he looks more like a projection than a finished product.
