Trey Watkins is LIU’s ball-hawking DB with All-NEC buzz
Watkins is trending as one of LIU’s most disruptive defenders, backing a 2025 season with 49 tackles, 5 interceptions, a forced fumble, and a pick-six, plus First Team All-NEC recognition and preseason All-America/watch-list attention for 2026[1][5]. His biggest differentiators are true playmaking instincts and ball skills—he turns coverage into turnovers and has already shown he can swing games, including against higher-level competition[5]. If your team wants a defensive back who brings urgency, toughness, and game-changing upside, Watkins fits the profile.
