Tough, high-minute Big 12 guard who drives Iowa State’s offense
In the 2022-23 season, Jaren Holmes was Iowa State’s do-it-all veteran guard, averaging 13.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.1 steals while logging 32.2 minutes per game. He’s valuable because he brings shot creation, edge, and playmaking in a rugged conference setting, and he consistently took on heavy usage against top competition. The tradeoff: his efficiency was uneven, but if your team wants a physical, experienced guard who can steady the floor and compete possession by possession, Holmes fits the bill.
