Mikai Gbayor brings veteran juice and downhill thump to FSU’s linebacker room
In the 2026 season, Mikai Gbayor is giving Florida State an experienced, physical linebacker with a proven track record: he has 7 tackles and 1 sack through the opener, and his career includes 114 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks across Nebraska, North Carolina, and FSU[8][3]. What makes him interesting isn’t just the box score — it’s the fit: he already knows Tony White’s 3-3-5 defense, has been praised for his early spring impact, and is being viewed as a leadership piece while he works through a minor injury-limited stretch[4][1][9].
