the steady Winthrop playmaker who quietly drives the offense
In the 2025-26 season, Drew Buggs has been a reliable backcourt organizer for Winthrop, with ESPN listing him at 7.0 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game. His real value is in pace control and distribution: he’s the kind of guard who makes everyone else cleaner, and his career reputation backs that up as a former Big South assist leader who finished second in the league at 4.5 assists per game in 2021-22. If a team wants a composed, pass-first guard with experience and feel, Buggs is a strong fit.
