Alex Thompson brings Samford a stretch-forward edge with veteran polish
Alex Thompson is a 6-foot-8 senior forward for Samford who has been valued as a floor-spacing big, with Samford noting he can stretch the floor and ESPN listing him as a Bulldogs forward. In his 2017-18 season, he averaged 11.6 points and 3.7 rebounds while shooting 31.5% from three and 77.9% at the line, and he once exploded for 35 points in a game against The Citadel, which hints at real scoring upside. He’s a fit if you want size, shooting, and a proven offensive skill set rather than pure rim-running chaos.
