Defensive-minded catcher with upside behind the plate
Braize Mitchell is an Iona catcher whose value starts with the premium role itself: managing a staff, controlling the run game, and providing steady defense, traits that often matter as much as raw batting line in college baseball. I could not verify reliable public stat or scouting data for a current, season-specific performance profile, so the clearest takeaway is fit-based: if your team wants a backstop who can earn trust through game-calling, composure, and consistency, Mitchell profiles as the kind of catcher coaches tend to keep close.
