Aaron Edwards brings JUCO polish, size, and upside to Sam Houston’s secondary
In the 2026 season, Aaron Edwards entered Sam Houston as one of the nation’s top junior-college defensive backs, with the Bearkats listing him at 6-foot-3, 205 pounds and noting a Rivals Industry Rating of 88.80, No. 2 among JUCO safeties and No. 33 overall in the class.[7] He played two seasons at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M and reportedly posted 53 tackles and 2 interceptions in his last season there, which points to a physical, ball-aware safety with starting-caliber versatility.[5] The appeal is simple: big frame, experienced prep-and-JUCO journey, and enough range to factor at safety or possibly corner in camp.[5][7]
