Chance Bryant is an ascending Houston defender with special-teams value and real upside
In the 2025 season, Houston listed Chance Bryant as a 6-foot-2, 255-pound sophomore on the defensive line, and the program has also used him at SAM linebacker and on kickoff coverage, which screams versatility and trust from the staff.[1][5][15] Houston coach Willie Fritz specifically praised Bryant’s high football IQ and said he will get a chance to contribute defensively, while his recruiting profile featured a three-star rating and top-200 in-state status in Texas, giving him a solid foundation rather than a pure project.[13][14] If a team wants a tough, multiple-role defender who can grow into more snaps, Bryant is a clean fit; if it wants a finished pass-rush product right now, he’s still developing.[1][14][15]
