Jackson Powers brings SEC-level pedigree to SDSU’s secondary
A Minnesota transfer, Jackson Powers arrived at South Dakota State as a 5-foot-11, 185-pound defensive back with three years of eligibility left in 2025, and his high-school résumé already showed impact plays: 48 tackles, four interceptions, and seven pass breakups while helping Maple Grove win the Minnesota Class 6A title in 2022. He looks like a smart fit for a disciplined, physical Jackrabbits defense because he offers versatility, ball skills, and a proven winner’s mentality—exactly the kind of DB who can raise the floor of a secondary without needing the spotlight.
