early SoCon spark with strike-throwing poise and starter upside
In the 2026 season, Samford right-hander Andrew Marble flashed immediate impact: he earned SoCon Pitcher of the Week after a Samford debut of 5.1 shutout innings with one hit allowed, four strikeouts, and one walk versus Belmont. He entered the year as a junior transfer from Jones Community College, where he posted a 6-1 record and a 3.17 ERA in 2024. Marble’s appeal is simple: he attacks hitters, competes with a starter’s mindset, and has already shown he can carry innings. The current wrinkle is consistency, with some tougher outings mixed in, but the upside is real.
