Mallie West brings lefty upside and two-way intrigue to Texas Tech
Mallie West is a left-handed pitcher for Texas Tech whose biggest calling card is projection: Texas Tech’s staff has described her as an elite arm with mid-60s velocity, a sharp changeup, and the rare ability to help defensively in the outfield or at first base. In 2026, she redshirted her first season, so the on-field sample is limited, but her signing profile suggests a high-ceiling, multi-tool fit for a program that values arm talent and versatility. If you want upside over finished product, she’s the kind of arm worth betting on.
