Jeffrey Overton Jr. is Virginia Tech’s explosive late-season RB with real juice
In the 2025 season, Jeffrey Overton Jr. flashed big-play ability after returning from an ACL injury, finishing with 146 rushing yards on 25 carries, a 5.8-yard average, plus a 36-yard catch and a touchdown in limited action. He’s the kind of back who pops off the screen: compact, quick to the hole, and coachable, with enough burst to turn a crease into a chunk gain. The caution flag is the small sample and injury history, but the upside is obvious—if you want a high-ceiling runner who can grow into more volume, he’s worth a hard look.
