Keegan Johnson is Ball State’s lefty ace and MAC’s preseason pitcher to watch
In the 2026 season, Keegan Johnson enters as Ball State’s top left-handed starter after earning MAC Preseason Pitcher of the Year honors and a Top-200 national starting-pitcher ranking from D1Baseball, with a fast-rising résumé built on strikeout stuff and workload reliability. He was the 2024 MAC Freshman Pitcher of the Year, and in 2025 he logged 70.2 innings with a 7-3 record, 4.46 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and a team-best 75 strikeouts; the tradeoff is that his command can waver, so he fits best for teams valuing a durable, competitive starter with real bat-missing upside.
