Brevard’s disruptive sophomore guard Malayka Rankin brings energy, defense, and reliability
In the 2025-26 season, Malayka Rankin is a 5'3" sophomore guard for Brevard who has already shown herself as a low-usage, high-effort contributor with defensive bite, after logging 18 games as a freshman and producing 25 rebounds, 19 steals, and a career-best 8 points in a game. She profiles as a fit for teams that value pace, toughness, and on-ball activity more than pure volume scoring, and Brevard’s recognition of her with the Ann Etters Excellence Award suggests she brings strong character and intangibles beyond the box score.[1][3][4][8]
