steady senior guard with a scoring punch when MVSU needs a bucket
In the 2025-26 season, Janiya Jones has been a reliable senior guard for Mississippi Valley State, averaging 6.4 points per game across 24 games while also bringing minutes, spacing, and shot-making to the Devilettes’ rotation. Her calling card is perimeter scoring—she hit 27 threes in 2024-25 and showed a 22-point, 8-for-16 outing in the 2026 SWAC tournament, a reminder that she can heat up fast. She looks like a tough, experienced fit for a team needing a composed guard who can contribute without needing the ball to dominate every possession.
