John Slaughter brings size, ball production, and SEC-tested experience to Colorado’s secondary
In the 2025 season, John Slaughter appeared in 11 games with three starts for Colorado and posted 24 tackles, two interceptions, and one forced fumble, showing a playmaking safety who can finish drives and create takeaways.[3][5][11] At 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds, he brings good length and physicality, and his background at Tennessee gives him a tougher, higher-speed résumé than a typical portal add.[1][6] The catch: his PFF grade was reported at 53.9 in 2025, so he looks more like a useful upside bet than a finished product.[2]
