Power arm with pedigree, but the injury cloud matters
In the 2026 season, Bryson Hoff was still working through the early part of his WVU career, but his profile is built on real upside: a 6-foot-2 right-hander from Charleston who was a top in-state prospect and, as a senior in high school, posted a 1.83 ERA with 106 strikeouts in 67 innings. The big question now is health, after offseason surgery for a grade 2 distal UCL tear sidelined him and pushed his return into the 2027 season. If you want a low-risk, ready-now innings eater, he is not that guy yet; if you want a homegrown arm with strikeout potential and patience baked in, he is worth the gamble.
