Lia Nance is a steady spark plug for NIU’s 2026 softball attack
In the 2026 season, Lia Nance has been a high-contact, high-motor outfielder for Northern Illinois, hitting .341 with an .801 OPS, 30 hits, 21 runs, 11 RBI, eight stolen bases, and a .966 fielding percentage across 40 appearances and 37 starts. She brings speed, consistency, and aggressive baserunning, plus enough versatility to impact games even when she’s not driving the ball over the fence. The eye-test notes match the stat line: she’s a reliable table-setter who creates pressure, covers ground, and looks like a fit for teams wanting a gritty, athletic catalyst rather than a one-tool specialist.
