Lefty upside, but the sample is tiny
In the 2026 season, Chance Covert II has only one Utah appearance — one inning at Cincinnati on March 20 — so the stat sheet is still more tease than proof. The appeal is the profile: a 6-foot-2, 200-pound left-hander with a left-on-left look, Texas prep pedigree, and a redshirt year already in the rearview after sitting 2025 at Texas. If Utah wants a developmental arm with starter-style size and untapped projection, he’s intriguing; if it needs immediate production, the résumé is still waiting to catch up.
