Developing Texas State arm with upside, but limited 2026 track record so far
Tyler Walton is a 6'1", 195-pound right-handed pitcher for Texas State in the 2026 season, listed as a redshirt freshman, and the current stat sheet shows a very small sample size with 2.0 innings, 4 hits, 3 runs, 1 strikeout, and a 13.50 ERA. That means the intriguing part is less about volume and more about projection: he’s a live arm still carving out his role, which makes him a watch-list fit rather than an instant plug-and-play ace. If your team wants upside, not polish, Walton is the kind of arm worth keeping tabs on.
