Carson Renner brings Penn State a steady, strike-throwing righty with sneaky bullpen value
Carson Renner is a 6-2, 215-pound redshirt junior RHP at Penn State who gives the Nittany Lions a mature bullpen arm with a track record of getting outs without much drama. In the 2025 season, he made four appearances and struck out four batters in two innings for Penn State, and his earlier East Stroudsburg season featured a 1.01 ERA, three saves, and 24 strikeouts in 26.2 innings. The appeal here is simple: he’s proven he can limit damage, handle leverage, and keep hitters off balance — the kind of low-maintenance, high-utility arm coaches love.
