veteran Dayton glue guy with efficient, all-around value
In the 2019-20 season, Ryan Mikesell was the kind of forward coaches love: a 6-foot-7, high-IQ veteran who started all 31 games and delivered efficient production across the board, including 10.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game with a team-best .811 free-throw mark in 2018-19 and strong shooting touch around 50.6% from the field. His real value goes beyond the box score—he was praised as a competitive, dependable locker-room presence and a “glue” player, though a hip issue had previously interrupted his development before he came back strong.
