Darien Jackson brings veteran size, edge, and sneaky production to Sam Houston’s interior
Darien Jackson is a 6-foot, 305-pound senior defensive tackle for Sam Houston who gives the Bearkats a sturdy interior anchor and proven disruption upside. In the 2025 season, he posted 10 tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack, and a pass breakup across 9 games, and his 2026 season has opened with minimal box-score impact so far after the Sept. 5 loss at Troy. His best trait is compact, powerful leverage with enough burst to chase plays down, and his value is the kind coaches love: physicality, experience, and reliable work in the trenches.
